The St Ives Bay SK2, Hayle
The St Ives Bay SK2
is situated in the former goods yard, adjacent to the
platform at the coastal town station of Hayle in West Cornwall.
The station is on the Cornish main line and is only one stop away from the branch
line to St Ives. The carriage is a BR Mark 1 Corridor Second number SK25355 built in 1957. It has been
converted into self catering accommodation and retains almost all of its original features including
all the compartments, the lamp shades, luggage racks, mirrors, blinds and upholstery.
Hayle is the perfect place for a family holiday -
you will find lots of interest for all ages
by following the "Hayle Area" link to the left of this page. We have strived
to make the carriage perfect for families, with swings, toys, books, videos and more.
Our own children Walter (11) and Poppy (8) love staying in The St Ives Bay SK2.
The carriage is divided into two separate lets at the central cross corridor by
lockable sliding doors. These doors isolate the central cross corridor thus
forming a very effective sound barrier between the two lets. The West end sleeps 6 and the East end, 8.
The carriage can accommodate groups of up to 14 by renting
both ends and leaving the dividing doors open.
Book the East End and rent the West End for only £120! (Excluding Christmas, Summer, Whitsun and October school holidays). If you make a booking for the East End for a week when the West is vacant, then you have the option of booking the West End for £120 - allowing lots of space for additional family and friends.
Pets are welcome when the whole carriage is let to one party.
Notes When Booking
Springtime Short Break Specials - Come and experience the wonderful Cornish springtime - Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday in the Sk2 East or West for only £195! Summer Short Break Specials between April and June
- only £295 for one end, or £415 for the whole carriage!
