The St Ives Bay SK2, Hayle

Self catering holiday cottage in Cornwall The St Ives Bay SK2 in the coastal town of Hayle, West Cornwall, sits in over half an acre of enclosed gardens. Beside Hayle station on the Cornish main line, it is one stop away from the branch line to St Ives and only a short walk from three miles of golden sands.

Divided into two lets, but also rentable as a whole, this 1957 corridor coach offers a real trip down memory lane. Converted into quality self catering accommodation it retains almost all of its original British Rail features including all the compartments, lamp shades, luggage racks, mirrors, blinds and upholstery.

Hayle is the perfect place for a family holiday with beaches, attractions and family friendly pubs and restaurants in abundance - you will find lots of interest for all ages by visiting our Hayle page. We have strived to make the carriage perfect for families, with swings, toys, books, DVDs and more. Our own children Walter (13) and Poppy (10) love staying in The St Ives Bay SK2.

The carriage is divided into two separate lets at the central cross corridor by lockable sliding doors. These doors isolate the central cross corridor thus forming an effective sound barrier between the two lets. The West End sleeps up to 6 and the East End, 8. The carriage can accommodate groups of up to 14 by renting both ends and leaving the dividing doors open. Outside of the school holidays the West End costs only an additional £120 when added to an East End booking. Look out for more special offers on our offers page

In addition to the above the West end also features a wc/shower compartment whilst the East end has a conventional double bed compartment and separate WC and shower rooms.

At Railholiday we know how important the environment is to our guests, so offer holidays that are eco friendly. At Hayle this includes full recycling and composting facilities, green energy supply (Good Energy), cashback if you arrive by public transport and a wild area for butterflies and birds. You can read more about our green record on our green page
