Didcot Railway Centre - home of the Great Western Society and its unique collection of Great Western Railway steam engines, coaches, wagons, buildings and small relics
Donegal Railway Heritage Centre - Museum with photo display, artefacts, models, videos, thousands of photos, documents and a bookshop. Also features working model railway, over 2000 digitised photos of the railway indexed and viewable on a computer, and a simulator which allows visitors to drive a steam train though Barnesmore Gap!
Downpatrick Railway Museum - The railway museum is the only preserved Irish Standard Gauge (5 ft 3 in) railway operating in Ireland. It is a representation of the former Belfast and County Down Railway terminus in Downpatrick, which closed in 1950, two years after the network was taken into state-ownership.

East Anglian Railway Museum - a comprehensive collection of period railway architecture and engineering in East Anglia, which will interest both the young and young at heart.
East Kent Railway - The East Kent Railway was constructed between 1911 and 1917 to serve the growing number of coal mines that were being sunk in the East Kent area.The railway today runs from Shepherdswell to Eythorne, a four mile round trip.
The East Lancashire Railway - originally opened in 1846 to link the Manchester to Bolton line with Radcliffe this was a popular passenger and freight route which served the Irwell Valley from Bury, via Ramsbottom, to Rawtenstall and beyond. Trains now run from Heywood to Rawtenstall
- an ex-Great Western Railway branchline running through the Mendip hills near Shepton Mallet, Somerset, UK. Steam trains run all year, with a 5-mile round trip through the rolling countryside.
The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway - runs from Duffield, five miles north of Derby to Wirksworth, a delightful market town on the edge of the Peak District in England. After 15 years disuse, passenger services are being reintroduced in stages from 2004.
The Eden Valley Railway - The Eden Valley Railway Society was formed in 1995 with the aim of reopening the 6 mile track between Appleby and Flitholme

Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway - travel on a train pulled by a steam locomotive from the historic station at Embsay, built in 1888, or Bolton Abbey Station.
Enfield Town Model Railway Club - members model in a variety of scales and gauges, ranging from N gauge through 00 and 0 gauge to gauge 1 and G scale. We have members who belong to the Gauge 3 Society, and others with experience of 5 inch and 7 and a quarter inch live steam, four are members of the EM Gauge Society
Friends of the Battlefield Line - The Battlefield Line is the last remain part of the former Ashby & Nuneaton Joint Railway which was opened in 1873. It runs from Shackerstone via Market Bosworth to Shenton in Leicestershire and is operated by the Shackerstone Railway Society
Giant's Causeway & Bushmills Railway - a narrow (3feet) gauge line linking two of Northern Irelands best known tourist destinations, the World Heritage Site of the Giant's Causeway and the internationally celebrated "Old Bushmills" Distillery.
Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway - An all-volunteer steam and diesel heritage railway in the English Cotswolds
Glyn Valley Tramway - The narrow-gauge Glyn Valley Tramway served the Ceiriog Valley from 1873 until 1935. Now the tramway has long gone but the Glyn Valley Tramway Group are working to ensure that it is not forgotten, in two museums associated with the Tramway.
Great Central Railway - Britain's double track main line steam Railway - One of the few places in the world where scheduled full size steam trains pass in motion on double track. Main Line Steam trains - every weekend throughout the year.
Gwilli Railway - A living reminder of a Great Western Railway branch line set in the breathtaking Carmarthenshire hills. Starting at Bronwydd Arms Station the steam train follows the route, originally taken by the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth line
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway - The unique & perfectly preserved Isle of Wight railway, most of which was closed between 1952 and 1966.
Keighley and Worth Valley Railway - The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is a delightfully restored 5-mile branch line which joins the national railway network at Keighley in West Yorkshire, north east of England and runs up the Worth Valley to Haworth and Oxenhope
The Keith & Duftown Railway - The Keith and Dufftown Railway is an eleven mile line linking the World's Malt Whisky Capital, Dufftown, to the market town of Keith.
Kent & East Sussex Railway - This line joins together Tenterden Town and Bodiam Castle, past the quiet Sussex village of Northiam on the way
The Kidderminster Railway Museum - The Kidderminster Railway Museum houses a vast range of railway artefacts, most of which date back to the days of steam travel and are related to the UK
Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway - The railway was originally built as a branch line of the Furness Railway in 1869, to establish a link with the lake steamers on Windermere. Originally carrying passengers and freight from Ulverston to Lakeside, the only part now remaining is the 3½ mile section from Haverthwaite through Newby Bridge to the terminus at Lakeside.

Launceston Steam Railway - The Launceston Steam Railway links the historic Cornish town of Launceston with the hamlet of Newmills. Trains are hauled by steam locomotives built to a famous design by the Hunslet Engineering Company in the late 1800's
The Lavender Line - The Lavender Line is part of the former Lewes to Uckfield Railway, Isfield station has now been restored and looks very much as it would have done in the 1920's and 30's.
- The Leadhills & Wanlockhead RailwayBritain's highest adhesion railway, reaching 1498 feet above sea level, it was originally built in 1900 for the Caledonian Railway. Combine a trip to the railway with the lead mining museum at Wanlockhead
Leighton Buzzard Railway - one of the few narrow-gauge light railways to survive in England. Leighton Buzzard Railway offers a 70-minute round trip from Page’s Park to Stonehenge Works.
Letchworth Model Railway Society - The Society was founded in 1981 by a small group of enthusiasts,most of whom are still members. The general aims of the Society are to preserve and encourage railway modelling in as many of it's various forms as possible.
The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway - The only standard gauge steam railway in Lincolnshire open to the public. The location is part of the original Great Northern Railway, which opened in 1848. now extended towards North Thoresby
Llanberis Lake Railway - Take a trip on this line and from your seat in the enclosed coaches you can enjoy spectacular views of Snowdon and the surrounding high mountains.
Llangollen Railway - A section of the former Ruabon to Barmouth route in North Wales that was closed in the 1960s has been reopened. Heritage trains now operate at weekends for most of the year, and all week from April to October. During the summer, most trains are steam-hauled; at other times diesel locomotives or railcars may be used.
London Transport Museum - The conservation and explanation of the capital city's transport heritage, London's Transport Museum offers people an understanding of its subject.
Lynton & Barnstaple Railway - The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in North Devon, is one of the world's most famous and picturesque narrow gauge railways. Passengers can now travel along part of the original route.
Mangapps Farm Railway Museum - a privately owned working museum established on a 400 acre farm at Burnham on Crouch, Essex. It features a ¾ mile standard gauge passenger carrying line, with restored stations, signal boxes and equipment from various sites throughout East Anglia.
The Market Drayton Preservation Spciety - The Society was established on 1st January 1992 when the concept was launched to try to restore part or all of the former Nantwich to Market Drayton Railway
Mid-Hants 'Watercress' Railway - runs 10 miles from Alresford to Alton, on the way visiting Ropley and Medstead & Four Marks.
Mid-Norfolk Railway - The Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust was established in 1995 with the aim of buying and restoring the line between the Norfolk market towns of Dereham and Wymondham. Currently own 28km (17.5 miles) of track and trackbed through central Norfolk's most attractive countryside, making it one of the largest preserved railways in the UK today.
The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway - The Mid-Suffolk Light Railway, was a classic case of a railway built late on in the great railway age that never paid its way. This example of English history is remembered in Suffolk's only railway museum, also called the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway Co., which is dedicated to keeping alive the memories of the Mid-Suffolk line.

Abingdon & District Model Railway Club - The club was formed in 1974, and currently has around 60 members. Interests cover a wide range of scale, period and region at all levels of expertise. The club has a small library, various hand and power tools, controllers and lighting equipment. A compact multi-gauge test track is also available.
Alsager Railway Association - ARA is a model railway club based in Alsager, South Cheshire. There are three modelling groups, O gauge, OO gauge and N gauge.

Bracknell Railway SocietyThe objectives of the Society are to encourage an interest in Miniature Engineering, Railway Modeling, as well as historical and modern railways. Churnet Valley Model Railway Department - The Churnet Valley Model Railway Department was formed in August 1999 by members of the Churnet Valley Railway, a standard gauge preservation group who have an interest in railway modelling.
The City of Canterbury Model Railway Society - The society is made up of a small group of modellers with wide interests and skills ranging from Garden Railways to Hornby Dublo to 2mm finescale.
Cleethorpes Model Railway Society - The society was formed in 1985 when a group of friends rented a small clubroom in Cleethorpes and built a layout named May Street Junction, early construction faults brought problems, so in the late 1980's a new layout was planned.After fifteen years of working in cramped conditions, the society moved into a larger building and now have three '00' gauge working layouts and two 'n' gauge layouts under construction.

Croydon Model Railway Society - The main objective of the Society remains much the same as it was when it started back in 1947; that is to promote and encourage the interest in all forms of railway, either model or prototype.
de Havilland Model Railway Society - Located on the site of the old de Havilland's (British Aerospace) factory at Hatfield, Hertfordshire (near the Galleria). Originally established for employees of de Havilland's, membership is now open to all. This history of the society has meant that engineering skills from the aerospace industry have often been applied to the society's layouts.
Egham & Staines Model Railway Society - The club currently has six large layouts permanently erected of various scales and gauges. On the land behind the hut the club are constructing a garden railway so that we can run live steam and electric trains in O Scale, 32mm & 45mm narrow gauges.

The Railway Enthusiasts' Club (REC) Ltd. Farnborough - The Clubrooms are reserved for railway activities, with Tuesday being the weekly club night. Every Tuesday, except the occasional 5th Tuesday, there is at least one model layout, often two, on display.5th Tuesdays are given over to some other form of railway oriented activity, including auctions, film shows, modelling demonstrations and the REC annual meetings.
Farnham & District Model Railway Club - a sociable club. On club night on Wednesdays there is often more talking than modelling, and the sub-groups within the club working on particular layouts organise "working days" when they can concentrate on advancing their layout. The club organises other events, both social and modelling.
Halifax Model Railway Club - The general aim of the club nights is to construct / complete the club layouts for the clubs own exhibition or to take to other exhibitions.
Hayle Model Railway Club - The object of the club is to foster an interest in railway modelling, and to share information about railways in general.
Hazel Grove & District Model Railway Society - A broad based group with approximately 60 members. Meet on Mondays and Fridays 8:00pm to 10:00pm Have several modelling projects in various stages of completion ranging in scales from 2mm/foot through to 7mm/foot.
Heywood Model Railway Group - Heywood Model Railway Group meets on Monday evenings at the Champness Hall Drake Street Rochdale. The club has its own rooms in the building where several models are set up for maintenance or building work to be carried out. The models are owned by the Group and range from "N" gauge through to "O" gauge with the members own Locomotives and Rolling Stock being used for exhibition purposes.
Hillingdon Railway Modellers - currently have 25 members and our latest projects include a replacement O gauge layout for Compton Abbas, which was some eight years old and now has gone to a new owner, also a new O gauge test track. We are also building a OO terminus based on Kingswear in Devon, with a Gas Works extension.
The Hull Miniature Railway Society - The Society was founded in 1948 and is one of the longest established Model Railway Clubs in the country.Currently club layouts range from 'N' gauge through to 'O' gauge via 'OO', 'EM' and P4, including a narrow gauge interest.

Ipswich Railway Modellers Association - The Association was formed around 30 years ago when a group of enthusiasts decided to band together and enjoy their hobby amongst like minded people. The club is still going and now has a thriving junior section.
Isle of Thanet Railway Society - Situated at Broadstairs Railway Station, the Isle of Thanet Railway Society meets on Wednesday evenings at 19.00 in the former Parcels Office. There are several interest groups within the club. These include modelling, running stock, socialising and visiting other clubs or railway related sites.

Manchester Model Railway Society - one of the oldest model railway clubs in the United Kingdom. The club members all over the world and would welcome new members of all ages. Northdowns Model Railway Circle - The layouts in these pages have been built and exhibited by a small group of friends based in South London and Surrey, England, Who model a wide range of prototypes including British, French, German, and American, standard and narrow gauge, in scales ranging from N to Fn3 and time periods from the 1900’s to the present day.
Northolt Model Railway Club - TheClub was formed in 1950 and its 60 plus members meet every Friday evening in permanent accommodation situated within the Northolt Village Community Centre. There is a wide range of railway interests within the club and layouts have been constructed in 2mm (N), 4mm (OO), and 7mm (O) gauges. An elevated 3½ " and 5 " gauge track within the grounds provides running facilities for the Live Steamers
North London Model Engineer Society - The North London Society of Model Engineers (NLSME) was originally founded in 1944, in order to promote and encourage the creativity of model engineering and related pastimes. It has an active membership which has steadily grown over the years, and we are always pleased to welcome new members.
North Turton Gauge O Group - The clubroom is on the top floor of the Barlow Institute, Bolton Road, Edgworth. We have two layouts at the moment, one under construction, Kingsbeck in Ramsdale, which is a 7mm finescale O gauge exhibition layout based on the East Coast, and a 7mm finescale O gauge test track which is now completed, and can be seen at our annual exhibition and our open days (see forthcoming events for dates).
Nottingham (Bulwell) Model Railway Society - The society have layouts in 4mm scale (OO and EM) and 7mm scale (O gauge), members' interests also include HO, P4 and the narrow gauges.The speciality of the society is the construction of working scale overhead electrification systems.

Stafford Railway Circle - The Circle consists of enthusiastic members who meet a couple of times each week to share their common interest in railways. The circle have several model railway layouts all of which are built to exhibition standard. However, you don't have to be interested in model railways in order to join: the Circle actively promotes interest in all aspects of railways and associated commercial transport.
St Neots Model Railway Club - The club meets on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 10pm.

Taunton Model Railway Group - current project - in effect re-creating history in 4mm scale by constructing a working scale model of the line which ran from Bath Green Park station to the junction where the Somerset & Dorset route turned off towards the south and the Midland line continued on towards Bristol and the north.
The Model Railway Club - The World's oldest model railway club, established in 1910, located 5 mins walk from Kings Cross Thameslink. With 3 layouts: Copenhagen Fields (2mm), Angel Transfer (HO) and Happisburgh (O) with a fourth in planning (OO). Also with a library of modelling and railway books, periodicals, etc, for both lending and reference. Meet on Thursday evenings.
Twickenham & District Model Railway Club Website - The club currently has operational layouts in OO, O, G, and Narrow Gauge The club has an extensive library of railway books whilst the centre has its own cafe and bar.

Weymouth Model Railway Association - formed in 1991 the purpose of the association is to provide the resources for the construction of model railways to exhibition standards. Wimborne Railway Society - a varied programme of slide, cine, and video shows interspersed with club nights where members can test their models on our test track, work on one of the layouts, read a book or magazine from our library, or have a chat with a like minded individual.
Witham Model Railway - A small, informal club whose members have an interest in Railways - both model and the 12 inch to the foot variety. We meet weekly and members often bring their latest models to show. Some people also bring current projects to work on.
Witley Model Railway Club - founded nearly nineteen years ago, in April 1980, by a group of model railway enthusiasts who had arranged a meeting with a view to seeing whether such a venture was possible. The Club has three main exhibition layouts and work is under way on three new layouts.
